Youth Cycle Racing

The fact that you have found us means either you are a young bike racer already (great news!) or a young person or parent or guardian of a young person who may be interested in leaning to ride a bike fast.

The clubs focus is on racing; we feel no apology is necessary as we want our riders to win!

To help with this Cycle Stars provide a structured pathway whereby riders are encouraged to try all variuos discilplines of the sport we love:

Road (Circuit) - we all want to be in the Tour de France ? !
Cyclocross - who doesn't like to get covered in mud occasionally ?
Time Trial - Known as the race of truth, you against the clock !
Grass Track - unfortunately we all don't live near a proper banked velodrome !

Each discipline asks different questions of our riders, riders will need to develop new skills in order to mastr each one.

Bike racing is hard, riders need to train to get better physically and mentally our qualified coaches are here to help !

Cycle Stars pride itself on having qualified coaches that have both felt the elation of crossing the finishing line first on occasion but those that may hae earlier also felt the pain of defeat!. Not everyone will win a race!

Cycle Stars is based in Cheltenham but-also provides some of the activities in Gloucester, Evesham and Stourport.

Additionally even hardened racers need to pause, rest and recover occasionally . There is always plenty going on, from indoor coaching sessions, roller evenings, club social rides and club evenings where we discuss tactical racing and look at past performances, all activities are promoted in accordance with British Cycling recommendations and detailed on the club App!

Road Safety

Cycle Stars povide Road Safety training sessions in a safe environment befor riding on the road for the first time. Instructors are qualified to the National Standard. There are 4 awards leading to advanced cycling on challenging roads.

Cycle Stars meet Chris Boardman

On the 24th November whilst competing in the West Midlands Cyclocross in Evesham, riders were lucky enough to meet Olympic Gold record holder and 3 stage wimnner of the Tour de France Chris Boardman MBE
