Cyclo-cross with Cycle Stars
Cyclocross is back for another winter season.
For those of you that are new to cycling, cyclocross is off road riding and when we get a bit muddy. It's not as extreme as mountain biking, but is faster and can include some quite tricky terrain.
Ridden on bikes 
similar to road bikes but have more frame clearence for the mud and are fitted with nobbly tyres. A hybrid or mountain bike can be used, the only downside is the weight. In cyclo-cross you will see riders jump on and off their bikes and perform bunny hops so the lighter the bike the better.
There are two leagues Cycle Stars participate in and that's the Western league and the West Midlands league, so there is always plenty of events to participate in.
Cycle Stars host regular Cyclocross coaching sessions for both Rookie Racers and Race Club.
Cheltenham Rookie Racers is at Belmont School on Saturday morning. We provide a variety of ramps and obstacles that enhance a young riders skills and confidence. A Rookie Racer is a young rider that likes to go fast but hasn't previously raced before and needs to improve their riding skills.

Race Club at Evesham Velopark is for the more experienced rider. Evesham Velopark offer a wide range of challenging obstacles that you would experience in a race. Rookies can join this session but they might not be able to manage all the obstacles but it would provide all the experience necessary if they are looking to race.
