BRITISH SCHOOLS SOUTHERN GRASS TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS

ENTRIES FOR THE BRITISH SCHOOLS SOUTHERN GRASS TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS                                                         CLOSE TODAY!

 

We have had an amazing amount of interest for the first British Schools Grass Track Championships and we look forward to an exciting event.

Location: The event is at Belmont School, Warden Hill Road, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL51 3AT - As you enter the campus the school will be identified by race event signs.

Races: start at 10.0am, please allow a minimum of 20 mins for registration and warm up. Don't worry if you don't have BSCA membership (Race License) , you can buy a day membership (Race License on the day) at registration cost £2. This is not a British Cycling License.

Race times are as follows:

U7 - 10.0AM         U9 - 11.30AM         U11 - 13.00PM           U13 - 14.30PM

Due to the high numbers of U9 entries we will now have a girls race and a boys race, this might mean timings might run over a but but safety is priority.

Parking: On arrival you will be directed my marshals to where you can park, access to the track will be signposted.

Registration: Will be the Pink and Blue Gazebo as you enter the track area, please register your arrival, purchase your day license if you are not a BSCA member and collect your Race numbers, one number is to be fitted to the front of your bike and the other number to be pinned to the back of your race jersey.

Are you entering as a team? If you are racing as part of a team. inform registration of your team and team colours.

 

BIKE & HELMET CHECK: Please make sure your bike is in good working order, the tyres are pumped up and the brakes are working and not rubbing on the wheel.

Safety: Don't forget your helmet and make sure it fits securely, advice on how to check bike and helmet can be found here: BIKE & HELMET CHECK

Warm up track: Do not enter the track until the race officials call your name, there will be a warm up track available, there will also be an opportunity of a quick ride of the track once your name as been called.

Spectators: please remain behind the barriers at all times, if there is an accident there are First Aiders who will attend. Show encouragement, cheer all riders no matter what their position is.

Photography: There is an official photographer (Paul) if you want to get a team photo for the school, just ask him and he will be happy to take one for you, there will also be pictures available of riders taken during the race. Please note that we must have permission from all parents to allow photography, the race official will advice by tannoy if photography of a particular race cannot be taken.

Refreshments: There will be drinks and snacks available at the refreshment stand.

Award Ceremony: There will be an award ceremony after each category event, please stay for the ceremony no matter what position your child finishes. All riders will be awarded and if they have done their best they are winners!

Toilets: There is only one unisex toilet which will be clearly signoposted, the outer door to school will be wedged open, do not close this door as a child might not be able to get out.

Litter: Please take your litter home, we want to keep the school tidy so we can use the school for future events.

After the event: Hopefully your young rider has had fun and willwant to rider more and learn how to go faster; details of Cycle Stars and BSCA will be available at the registraion tent. Follow us on Facebook or Website.
